Felt Roofing

Roofing felt is a layer of tar paper installed beneath the shingles to provide a backup layer of waterproofing to help prevent leakage. Felt is required when asphalt shingles are installed as a first layer of roofing.

While felt roofing is available in different weights and materials, many materials are now obsolete and not used. Heavier materials are normally used on flatter roofs which are more susceptible to leaks.

The underlying deck will first need to be clean, dry, and free from any nails sticking out.

Radar Roofing will ensure all necessary step are taken as part of the installation process.
